hello.. some months ago I was searching for a VPS and, while I already evaluated westhost, I decided at the end to go to an other (small) provider as it was giving me "true" root access using XEN VPSs.
Unfortunatly the speed of my VPS is quite hurting me as even apps as gallery or joomla are a serious problem.

Now I saw in other topics under this forum that it is possible to install python/zope/plone.. I am quite surprised as I was thinking that this level of freedom was not available under webhost VPS.. just please confirm me that with a "summer special" plane I can install them AND that the CPU/RAM is enough for running them under low-traffic sites..

We have users that have installed this. If you have questions regarding the install, you might refer to the other post you responded to that included detailed installation instructions. As to whether or not it will run good for you, it should run fine, but "low traffic" is a rather relative term so it's tough to say for sure.
